Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Legislative Law – BBA LL.B. (Hons.) [henceforth, BBA LLB (Hons.)] is a Five-year integrated undergraduate degree programme in Law enabling the students to get requisite knowledge related to various domains of business administration, namely, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and fundamental laws, both substantive and procedural laws, enabling the students to be professional.

The School of Law offers full-time undergraduate programme, spread over ten semesters and duly approved by the Bar Council of India.

Once they graduate, the students can practice in any specific field of law or in multiple domains. The students can work in the public sector or in the private sector.

The Course Curriculum has been created in such a manner so as to include contemporary trends and issues in cyber-crimes, media laws, various industries, etc. The course curriculum, offered through elective papers, enables the students to acquire a certain extent of specialization. The students will develop critical thinking which will enhance their research capabilities and transform them into a good legal practitioner.

The programme is designed to address contemporary legal issues in the fast-changing socio-economic and political environs with special emphasis on global matters. The Institute has developed an enriching course curriculum with a cutting edge pedagogy and clinical legal training as per industry demands and expectations.

Students require excellent reasoning and aptitude skills along with good general knowledge and communication & reading skills to be successful in this highly competitive-yet-rewarding field.

Moot Court

Moot Court is the most important and exciting aspect of pursuing the BBA LLB Hons. integrated programme for law students as the proceedings of the moot court mirror real-life court proceedings. The key elements of mooting help the students to develop their research skill, writing skill & speaking skills. Students learn the nuances of working in a court with the help of this pragmatic set-up.

Learning by Doing Approach

Project & application-based learning is the hallmark of the University and School of Law is no exception to the same. It provides the opportunity for a bright career for the students of BBA LLB Hons. on the virtue of being an interdisciplinary programme which provides for comprehensive understanding related to the corporate world as well as legal studies, thanks to the sound teaching and research initiatives such as Moot Court and other practical aspects which help to make the path from the academics to corporate a seem-less one. Such areas of interest as in Legal Education of Civil Laws, Criminal Laws, Arbitration, Mediation, ADR and Intellectual Property Rights specializations make the course content contemporary and up-to-the-mark. This professional programme provides practical exposure along with the theoretical inputs.

Learning Edge Saturdays

AJU offers extracurricular activities of high intensity and value which develop mind, body and spirit. Notable among them are the Learning Edge Saturdays, where a combination of technology, business, cultural and theatre related activities are organized on continuous basis every Saturday. Corporate lectures, Tech scan sessions, debate forums, industry interaction, etc. are organised.

Integrated Mode of Teaching & Learning

Our teaching approach incorporates syndicate learning, case studies, regular assessments and immersion in real-life industry projects designed to enrich students’ knowledge in a particular area of interest and to provide them exposure to the real business world scenarios.

Workshop, Seminars, Guest Lectures, Industry Interface – We have adopted the New Pedagogy to educate the students. Each semester sees regular interface with Legal Experts in the existing and emerging domains pertaining to Law such as Intellectual Property Rights Law, Cyber Laws, Arbitration Mediation, ADR Laws, Drafting of Court’s Pleading and various Contracts, Agreements, MoUs, Legal Letters etc. Commendable discourse on Law with the help of Live Case Discussions in Classes is a part of the program. Our BBA LLB Hons. program includes Quiz-based Games and Knowledge-based Games. Various Courts visits such as District Court, High Court and Supreme Court are conducted as and when they could be done.

Speaker Series – Speaker Series is organised every semester. The speakers involved herein are from Law Firms, Judicial Offices and Legal Educational Sectors who enlighten the students on relevant legal issues related to various fields.

CLR (Current Legal Review session) – Every week, these sessions are organized to discuss the recent happenings in the Legal and Corporate Fields. Students are provided with SCC online access, Practical Lawyer Political and Law Times or other Law Magazines. They present and discuss the news and do analysis of important legal and corporate issues.

Legal Debate Forums – The Legal Debate Forum allows students to debate on issues being faced by the society and the ability to learn different perspectives that are brought to the table for discussion by students with different areas of expertise.

Saturday the Law Learning Day (SLLD) – Extracurricular activities of intensity and significance which develop students’ intellectual capability are organized under SLLD. It is a combination of law, management, cultural, media and theatre-related activities which are organized on continuous basis every Saturday. A series of Law-Lectures, Debate Forums are organized under this initiative.
